How to Throw a Galentine’s Day Brunch in 4 Easy Steps
Valentine's Day is coming soon, and trust us, we can't wait! But before we start buying gifts and planning romantic meals, let's not forget the ladies in our life. That's right, it's time to celebrate Galentine's Day.
A movement inspired by the clever comedy and fierce feminism of Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day has cemented itself is as the perfect girlfriend get-together. Taking place on February 13th, the day before V-day, Galentine’s day is for your favorite gal pals to gather, hang out, chat, and nibble on delicious noms. Naturally, we had to take part in the fun!
We can all agree that party planning can be stressful and time-consuming, right? But putting together a stylish brunch like this should be simple and effortless! We're here to share the 4 essential elements for throwing a Galentine's feast.
How to Throw Galentine’s Day Brunch in 4 Easy Steps
1. Select your guest list:
The Paris312 team threw a fun and festive Galentine’s Day brunch with a few of our dearest friends, including Lauren Nolan of Lakeshore Lady, Nicole Regan of Cedar & Rush, Maya Harris from Classic City Chic, and Colleen Tracey, owner of the recently launched Lore Creative Co.
2. Pick the aesthetic:
When it comes to Galentine’s Day, pick the color palette that best suits you and your girlfriends. Obviously, pink was a natural choice for a Galentine's Day brunch. We balanced it out with warm neutrals, whites, and pops of gorgeous chartreuse to provide colorful contrast.
For our Galentine’s Day brunch, we set up our Valentine's day Dinner Party Box, featuring our flirty Coquette Collection. Here’s what the Party Box includes:
- 2 Mylar heart balloons
- Gold dinner & dessert plates
- Coquette napkins
- Coquette cups
- Coquette straws
- Rose gold forks
- Coquette table runners
- Coquette poms and fans
- French Fun place cards
- Large gold tray (great for serving cookies and cupcakes!)
3. Pick a killer menu:
Good food is essential to a great party. We know you can't have too many sweets, especially around Valentine's Day! Our refreshments of choice included macarons, cakes, and cupcakes from our Sweets Concierge delivery service. They tasted great and the macarons were perfect for adding a little Parisian flair!
We also were fortunate enough to get delicious cookies from Lush Bites! Lush Bites is a gourmet, gluten-free cookie subscription box, based here in Chicago. They created adorable Galentine's Day cookies just for our brunch. Scroll down to the bottom of the blog post for an exclusive discount!
For our Galentine’s Day cocktail, we served grapefruit juice topped off with a rosé prosecco. It was so light and bubbly, we loved sipping on it all day!
4. Create ambiance:
Little details and fun extras always add depth to your Galentine's Day aesthetic. We made gorgeous rose petal ice cubes (tutorial here) to fill the ice bucket with the rosé. They were a huge crowd pleaser! Disclaimer: unless you find organic roses, DON’T use them in your drink. Only use them to chill a wine or champagne bottle.
To add to the festive feel of the party, we played an amazing Galentine’s Day station on Pandora! Check it out here. Finally, plan some activities! Find out fun facts about your guests with our “This or That” coasters. Get them here.
You're all set. Enjoy the Galentine’s Day festivities with your favorite ladies!
